Neurotransmitter Transporter

Neurotransmitter transporters are one of the key components of synapses. They are mainly found in the cell membrane of nerve endings and the function is to terminate the action of released transmitters by reuptake. Because of their key roles in depression and neurodegenerative diseases (NDD) such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, neurotransmitter transporters have become an important class of drug targets.

ICE has cell-based neurotransmitter transporter detection models that can evaluate the effect of candidate drugs on transporter activity.
