ATPases

ATPases are essential enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of ATP into ADP and inorganic phosphate, a reaction that releases energy necessary for a wide range of cellular processes, including muscle contraction, ion transport, and cellular signaling. Dysregulation of ATPase activity is associated with various diseases, such as neurodegenerative disorders, cancer, and cardiovascular conditions.

Kinesin ATPases are motor proteins responsible for intracellular transport and cell division, particularly during mitosis. Aberrant expression of kinesins is linked to dysregulated mitosis in various cancers, making them important therapeutic targets.

VCP (Valosin-Containing Protein) is involved in diverse cellular processes, including protein degradation and stress response. As VCP has been implicated in multiple cancer types, understanding its regulatory mechanisms is essential for therapeutic development.

Our ATPase assay service employs the ADP-Glo, a highly sensitive and precise technique for measuring ATPase activity. The ADP-Glo assay works by quantifying the amount of ADP produced during ATP hydrolysis, providing a direct measure of ATPase activity.
