Surface Plasmon Resonance

Biophysical assays directly detect drug-target binding and occupy a special position in drug discovery. At ICE Bioscience, our biophysical experts develop assays for diverse targets using a range of technologies, with surface plasmon resonance (SPR) as a primary platform.

SPR enables real-time monitoring of molecular interactions and supports determination of equilibrium dissociation constant KD, association rate constant ka, and dissociation rate constant kd. As a widely used standard for molecular-interaction analysis, SPR supports multiple stages of pharmaceutical research and development.

Our SPR assays combine label-free and high-throughput screening with comprehensive kinetic studies and precise affinity measurement across diverse applications.

Figure 1. SPR Assay Principle. When plane-polarized light encounters a metal film under conditions of total internal reflection, it initiates the SPR phenomenon. SPR signal intensity is directly influenced by the refractive index of the medium surrounding the sensor chip.

Sample Data

The nuclear enzyme poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) contributes to DNA repair following DNA damage. We use SPR to assess the selectivity and binding affinity of PARP inhibitors. PARP enzymatic assays, PARP trapping assays, and PARP panel screening services are also available.
